The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) – Pagadian City Extension Campus has been awarded as one of the 2025 Active Adopt-An-Estero Program Partners by the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) IX of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). The recognition, particularly under the Water Quality Management category, was presented during the Environmental Awards Night on November 13, 2025, at the Garden Orchid Hotel in Zamboanga City.

Dr. Ferlor Angel G. Rodriguez, BSED Science and MAED Science faculty, received the award on behalf of Dr. Patricia D. J. Bahian, Pagadian Campus Director, representing the institution. This year’s awards night carried the theme “Sustaining Together: Honoring Environmental Partners,” in line with the celebration of Clean Air Month and National Environmental Awareness Month.

The Pagadian Campus’s active participation in programs and activities promoting environmental protection, conservation, and sustainable development was instrumental in earning the recognition. Dr. Bahian extended her appreciation to the students and staff, who supported the campus’s environmental initiatives, particularly those under the guidance of Ms. Janniece L. Magsayo, Department Head of Student Affairs and Support Services, and Mr. Joniel L. Calibo, National Service Training Program (NSTP) In-Charge.

The award underscores the dedication and advocacy of JHCSC in supporting the shared goal of a cleaner and greener Zamboanga Peninsula, which has made a meaningful impact.

Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
