Some 57 years ago, Southeast Asian nations, in the face of their many diverse geopolitical, economic, social, and cultural challenges, met in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 8, 1967. Initiated by our very own Foreign Minister, Narciso R. Ramos, along with his counterparts from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, signed the ASEAN Declaration, which founded the ASEAN.
This past year has been a testament to your exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment, and visionary approach. Those around you have been motivated by your dedication to furthering JHCSC’s mission and vision, which has encouraged innovation and teamwork.
On August 8, 2024, aside from celebrating the 57th ASEAN Day, it also marks a special occasion at J.H. Cerilles State College. The institution celebrates Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales’ first-year tenure for being re-elected as the 6th president. The Presidential Management Office, spearheaded by Mrs. Snooky Bemia A. Beboso, MBA, integrated a short program during the ASEAN Celebration.
To mark the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in 1967 with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration, ASEAN Day is celebrated annually on August 8. J.H. Cerilles State College joined this celebration with a short program at the Main Campus Maceda Student Center, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, facilitated by the Internationalization and External Linkages Office spearheaded by Dr. Wendell Glenn P. Cagape.
“Maligayang pagdating at magandang pagbabalik,” a heartfelt greeting of J.H. Cerilles State College President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales to the first-year and returning students who gathered together in a class opening activity at the Main Campus College Gymnasium, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, held on August 7, 2024, aims to begin the academic year with camaraderie, enthusiasm, and pride.
To ensure that the learning environment of the college is clean, safe, and welcoming for this academic year 2024-2025, J.H. Cerilles State College, under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, implemented an activity titled “Bonding Eskwela 2024” in all Campuses, the version of JHCSC of DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela. This initiative was launched today, August 5, 2024, at the Main Campus and the Pagadian Annex.
J.H. Cerilles State College has conducted a two-day team building event called B.O.N.D.I.N.G. – Believe, Observe, Nurture, Develop, Inspire, Never Give Up at JHCSC Dapiwak, Dumingag Campus. Led by JHCSC President, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, the said activity primarily aims to foster greater camaraderie and teamwork among participants.
To present the key components of the J.H Cerilles State College Information System Strategic Plan and the JHCSC Strategic Plan 2024-2030 to the stakeholders consulted by the expert Consultants, the Planning Development Office (PDO), led by Director Dr. Cleofe A. Baterna, Jr., organized a Stakeholders Consultation held on July 29, 2024, at JHCSC Pagadian Annex Conference Room.
J.H. Cerilles State College, under the leadership of President Edgardo H. Rosales, granted a Certificate of Accreditation as proof of eligibility as an NCCA proponent in compliance with NCCA Board Resolution 2017-265, issued on July 18, 2024.
To mark a successful conclusion to the JHCSC Pulse Training Workshop conducted by the Information and Public Affairs Office (IPAO), the student media representatives across J.H. Cerilles State College Campuses, including Main and Pagadian Annex (The Journey), Dumingag (The Insider), and Lakewood (The Heights Courier), presented their collaborative projects on July 31, 2024 at New Roxan Hotel Function Hall, Pagadian City.
