The first day of classes for the second semester of the academic year 2024-2025 officially began with a flag-raising ceremony held at the Main Campus Gymnasium in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, on January 13, 2025. Under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, the event emphasized adherence to Civil Service Memorandum Circular No. 16, s. 2024, with employees wearing traditional Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog attire.

Attended by key university officials, including Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation; Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Mrs. Bemia Snooky A. Beboso, Main Campus Administrator, deans, faculty and staff, the ceremony underscored the institution’s unity and commitment to excellence.

In her opening message, Mrs. Beboso warmly welcomed students and encouraged them to embrace the opportunities of the new semester. β€œThis year, we embark on a new journey with fresh opportunities to explore, goals to achieve, and memories to create,” she remarked.

A key highlight of the program was the recognition of the 2024 board passers, honoring the outstanding achievements of graduates from the BSCE, BSA, BSF, BSCrim, BSED, and BEED programs. Certificates of commendation were awarded to acknowledge their dedication, perseverance, and success in their respective fields. The ceremony reflected JHCSC’s pride in its graduates and unwavering commitment to fostering academic excellence and producing globally competitive professionals.
