The 4th Quarter Regular Meetings of the Academic and Administrative Councils were held on December 12, 2024, at the Pagadian City Extension Campus Conference Room. While some members attended in person, others participated virtually via Google Meet. Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, College Visionary President, chaired both meetings consecutively.

The JH Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Finance Committee, under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, convened for a meeting on December 16, 2024, at the Conference Room, 3rd Floor, I.T. Building, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The session was chaired by Hon. Maria Felicidad R. Guerrero, NEDA IX Director, and focused on financial matters significant to the institution’s operations.

The employees of the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) were filled with joy and gratitude as they celebrated their Christmas Party at the Provincial Government Complex, Mega Gym, Dao, Pagadian City, on December 14, 2024. This year’s event, with the theme “Embracing the Spirit of Giving: A Season of Gratitude and Compassion,” was highlighted by a special grocery and appliance package giveaway, along with a cash raffle, sponsored by 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐧. As part of the Adopt-a-District Extension Program (ADEP) under the TABANGE Framework, led by Prof. Ricky A. Egos, Extension Director guided by the visionary leadership of JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, the JHCSC School of Business and Management (SBM) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Skills Training for Non-Working and Indigent Citizens of Barangay White Beach, Pagadian City, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Barangay officials of Barangay White Beach.

Directed by CHED Commissioner Hon. Ronald L. Adamat and Ms. Marinette Lusanta, JHCSC, under the dynamic leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, hosted a film viewing of ‘The Blind Soldiers’ today, December 13, 2024 at the Main Campus Gymnasium, Mati, San Miguel Zamboanga del Sur.

The JHCSC Gender and Development (GAD) Office, under the leadership of Director Dr. Trinidad C. Abapo, hosted the culmination of the 18-day campaign to end Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) today, December 13, 2024. The event was held at the JHCSC Gymnasium, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, with the theme “UNiTEd for a VAW-free Philippines” and the sub-theme “VAW Bigyang Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!”

The School of Business Management (SBM) held a two-day “SBM Fine-Dining and Modeling Experience” event on December 11-12, 2024. Themed “Taste the Runway: Where Fashion Meets the Flavor,” at the JHCSC Hostel at the Pagadian City Extension Campus, the event were spearheaded by Ms. Charmagne Merontos, course instructor for Professional Development and Applied Ethics and course instructor for HPC 101 Kitchen Essentials and Basic Food Preparation, Prof. Llanevie Azel Z. Niez, Secretary of the Council of Tourism and Hospitality Educators of Zamboanga Peninsula, with the guidance of SBM Dean Dr. Julito V. Mandac Jr., and with the support of JHCSC President, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. The event blended culinary arts with fashion modeling, offering a platform for students to demonstrate their skills in both fields.

JH Cerilles State College (JHCSC) participated in the 1st International Multidisciplinary Research Conference held on December 7-8, 2024, at the Mibang Hotel in Dipolog City. The conference, organized by St. Vincent’s College Graduate School, the Research and Development Office, and the Center for Community Extension and Linkages, partnered with international institutions such as Rangsit University (Thailand) and Norton University (Cambodia). It focused on the theme “Innovative Research for Sustainable Futures: Harnessing Digitalization to Advance the UN SDGs through Global Collaboration.”
