The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, has earned another milestone with the issuance of a Certificate of Accreditation from the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) through its National Seed Quality Control Services (NSQCS).
Granted on August 13, 2025, the accreditation officially recognizes JHCSC as an Inbred Rice Seed Producer, highlighting the college’s capacity to meet national standards for high-quality seed production. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞, which provides the institution with free foundation seeds and a seed fund of ₱100,000 per hectare.
This distinction is linked to 𝐉𝐇𝐂𝐒𝐂 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬, where the inbred rice seed production program is based. The campus, led by Director 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧, demonstrated full compliance with the rigorous requirements set by the country’s official seed certifying agency, positioning JHCSC as a trusted partner in strengthening food security and supporting local farmers.
Through this accreditation, JHCSC reaffirms its mission to advance agricultural research, provide quality extension services, and contribute to sustainable development across Zamboanga del Sur and beyond.
