Faculty members from various campuses of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) gathered at the Pagadian Campus for a two-day Hybrid Training on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) from July 31 to August 1, 2025. The event was spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, under the leadership of Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, in line with the college’s commitment to enhance instructional quality across its academic programs.

The training brought together educators from the Main Campus, Pagadian Campus, Canuto M.S. Enerio Campus, and Dumingag Campus, fostering collaboration and shared learning among faculty members from different academic disciplines. The sessions focused on Strategic Mapping for Circular Coherence, emphasizing the alignment of program and course outcomes with institutional goals to ensure a cohesive and student-centered learning experience.

Breakout sessions allowed participants to engage in hands-on activities, including constructing course outcomes with a clear purpose, enhancing learning alignment, and developing weekly plans tailored to specific course objectives. Faculty members also worked on institutionalizing enhanced syllabi, a step toward standardizing and improving course delivery to meet both academic and industry standards.

By the end of the two-day event, participants gained practical tools and strategies to integrate OBE principles further into their teaching. The initiative marked another milestone in JHCSC’s drive to produce graduates equipped with relevant skills, critical thinking, and lifelong learning capabilities that respond to the needs of a dynamic and evolving workforce.

Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
