The Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) recently participated in a major professional gathering—the 42nd Association of Certified Public Accountants in Mindanao (ACPAMIN) Conference and the 31st Mindanao Geographical Area Office (MGAO) Meeting. The event, hosted by the PICPA Bukidnon Chapter, took place on May 29–30, 2025, at the People’s Hall in the New City Hall of LGU Malaybalay, located in Barangay Casisang, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. Carrying the theme “Rooted in Values, Growing in Excellence,” the conference was anchored in the PICPA core philosophy, VALUES ABOVE ALL, which stands for Verily, Acceleration, Leadership, Ultimate, Excellence, and Solidarity.

Attendees were treated to a robust lineup of technical sessions designed to equip accounting professionals with the latest industry insights and tools. Topics ranged from ethics in the accountancy profession, updates from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Board of Accountancy (BOA), to cutting-edge discussions on AI-powered accounting systems, fraud pedagogy, financial reporting standards for cooperatives, and innovative teaching techniques for educators.

The JHCSC delegation was led by Law Dean Romylyn O. Regidor, CPA, who also serves as the President of the PICPA – Pagadian Chapter. The group expressed their heartfelt gratitude to JHCSC President, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales and Vice President for Admin and Finance, Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido, CPA, MBA, for their unwavering support in enabling the participants to earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units. These CPD credits are essential for meeting the Board of Accountancy and Professional Regulation Commission’s requirements for CPA license renewal.

Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
