The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), led by Director Jerry R. Redoblado, facilitated an Emergency Simulation Exercise covering earthquake response, crime incidents, and fire fighting at J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Main Campus, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, on March 28, 2025. The event was assisted by the JHCSC DRRMO Student Responders and Volunteers and was supported by Main Campus Director Dr. Trinidad C. Abapo.
The exercise gathered all JHCSC Main Campus faculty, staff, and students, along with distinguished guests from partnered government agencies, including the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) San Miguel Municipal Fire Station, BFP Guipos Municipal Fire Station, PNP San Miguel Municipal Police Station, MDRRMO San Miguel, the Philippine Armyβs 53rd Infantry (Matapat) Battalion, and the San Miguel Rural Health Unit (RHU).
Among the distinguished guests who provided valuable insights on safety, preparedness, and awareness were FO2 Raniel M. Lumombang, representing SF02 Junidel M. Rodriguez of BFP San Miguel; SF04 Manuel S. Flora of BFP Guipos; PMSG Raymond Recto, representing PCPT Louis F. Arquiza of PNP San Miguel; Engr. Sherwin B. Balling of MDRRMO San Miguel; PFC Manuel Endino III (INF) PA, CMO NCO, representing LTC Rolando E. Vargas Jr. INF (GSC) PA of the Philippine Army; and Dr. Kerry Belle Macaraeg of the San Miguel RHU.
JHCSC expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the allied government agencies by presenting plaques of appreciation. The awarding was facilitated by JHCSC DRRMO Director Jerry R. Redoblado, Campus Director Dr. Trinidad C. Abapo, and College Registrar Mr. Dante B. Bayocot.
The emergency simulation exercise emphasized the importance of preparedness, coordination, and quick response in crisis situations. JHCSC, under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, remains committed to strengthening disaster resilience by continuously collaborating with government agencies and training its community to respond effectively to emergencies.
