San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur โ€“ November 14, 2024 โ€“ Syntegral Global Solutions (SGS) held the groundbreaking ceremony for its first integrated coconut processing facility in San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The event was led by SGS CEO Bryan K. Thomas, with support from local officials, including Governor Victor J. Yu, Congresswoman Divina Grace C. Yu, and Mayor Ex D. Ocapan. Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, President of the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), played a key role in the project’s success. The ceremony was attended by SGS executives and local dignitaries, emphasizing the projectโ€™s significance to both the community and the coconut industry.

Among the key personalities present were SGS executives Mr. Randy Knutson, Chief Technology Officer (CTO); Mr. Steve Anglicas, Chief Operating Officer (COO); Mr. Ramon Barbosa, Managing Director of SGS Coconut; Mrs. Ameena Red, Executive Assistant; and Mr. Frank del Castillo, Legal Officer. Other attendees included Mrs. Bihildis Quezon, Acting Regional Manager of the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Region IX, Mr. Dionedes P. Dagatan, PCA Development Manager, along with other provincial personnel. Their collective presence highlighted the significance of the project to both the local community and the broader coconut industry.

The 7-hectare facility will process various coconut products with plans to expand. Aiming to export 70% of its production, the facility is set to create 5,000 new jobs and strengthen the local agricultural sector. It aligns with SGS’s priorities of Farmers-First, People Matter, Systemic Change, and Provincial Priority, and will play a key role in the global coconut market.

In his speech during the ceremony, Mr. Thomas expressed gratitude to Governor Yu, Congresswoman Divina Yu, and President Rosales for their unwavering support of the project. He highlighted SGSโ€™s commitment to improving the lives of local farmers and creating sustainable economic opportunities. Governor Yu also expressed his excitement for the project, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the provinceโ€™s economy. Congresswoman Divina and Hon.
