On November 13, 2024, Syntegral Global Solutions (SGS) held an orientation seminar and MOA consultation at the JHCSC Pagadian Extension Campus Hostel. Led by Mr. Bryan K. Thomas, CEO of SGS, to collaborate with J.H. Cerilles State College under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. The event aimed to foster collaboration between government agencies, universities, and private partners to develop sustainable agricultural solutions for communities in Zamboanga del Sur.
The seminar was attended by several key officials from both SGS and JHCSC, highlighting the significance of this collaboration. From SGS, key figures included Mr. Randy Knutson, Chief Technology Officer (CTO); Mr. Steve Anglicas, Chief Operating Officer (COO); Mr. Ramon Barbosa, Managing Director of SGS Coconut; Mrs. Ameena Red, Executive Assistant; and Mr. Frank del Castillo, Legal Officer. JHCSC was represented by Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA); Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF); Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation (VPRERG); Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, JHCSC Dumingag Campus Director; Hon. Mary Ann Farrales, Board of Trustees (BOT) Private Sector Representative; Dr. Cleofe A. Baterna Jr., Planning and Development Office (PDO) Director, and Hon. Cyrusdirk L. Elle, Student Trustee. Additional attendees included Atty. Esther Marie Ringon, BOT Secretary Designate; Mr. Cristian Amor Baya, BOT Secretary I; and Atty. Princess Rosal Inclan, Legal Officer, all of whom participated in discussions about future collaboration.
Dr. Rosales emphasized the importance of partnerships between academia and the private sector in driving agricultural innovation. Mr. Thomas reaffirmed SGS’s commitment to empowering farmers and supporting Indigenous communities through sustainable agricultural practices.
Following the seminar, SGS and JHCSC held a consultation to finalize a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) outlining their shared goals in agricultural research, education, and community development. The collaboration aims to enhance JHCSC’s research capabilities, provide valuable training, and create long-term economic benefits for local farmers.
