Under the visionary leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, the Information and Public Affairs Office (IPAO) has officially relaunched “The JHCSC Gazette,” the official newsletter publication of the institution, during the Flag Raising Ceremony held today, November 11, 2024, at the Maceda Ground, JHCSC Main Campus in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The event was graced by the presence of key officials, including Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Wilfredo Barnido, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, along with faculty, staff and student.

During the event, Mr. Homer T. Lao, IPAO Director, shared a message regarding the revival of “The JHCSC Gazette,” expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of President Rosales, which was delivered by Mrs. Edelyn M. Pelaez, Senior Information Assistant, emphasizing the significance of the newsletter’s return. “Thanks to the visionary leadership of Dr. Rosales and the steadfast support of his administration, “The JHCSC Gazette” is back and more vibrant than ever,” Mr. Lao said. He also highlighted that the quarterly publication will be available in print and online, through both the JHCSC website and official Facebook page, expanding its reach to the JHCSC community.

President Rosales commended the IPAO team’s effort to revive the college newsletter. First launched in 2012, carrying the prestigious International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) 2094-0653, “The JHCSC Gazette” previously published two official editions and one special edition. However, the publication had been paused due to limited resources and manpower. With the renewed focus under the leadership of President Rosales and Mr. Lao, “The JHCSC Gazette” will document the institution’s accomplishments and milestones, serving as both a historical record and a reflection of the college’s growth. The newsletter will provide the JHCSC community with updates and insights into significant events within the college.

As part of its new direction, “The JHCSC Gazette” will collaborate with the JHCSC Pulse Broadcasting Program and the Student Publications across campuses. This partnership will ensure comprehensive coverage of significant college events, including the upcoming MASTS Friendship Games 2024, which our institution will host. The revitalized publication aims to keep the community connected and informed about everything that matters within JHCSC.
