As part of the Adopt-a-District Extension Program (ADEP), the School of Teacher Education (STE) inaugurated its Research Capability Building Seminar Workshop Series for DepEd teachers of San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur on October 9, 2023. The event took place at the E-Center in Poblacion San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, spearheaded by ADEP Project Leader Mrs. Juvie B. Sebial, with solid support from STE Dean Dr. Starr Clyde S. Sebial.

The keynote lecturer, Dr. Lee Baraquia, Education Program Supervisor for the Planning and Research Division at DepEd Regional Office IX, delivered valuable insights on the DepEd Basic Education Research Agenda and the integration of research and innovation in education. Attendees included Mrs. Juvy Tan Empalmado, Public School District Supervisor, DepEd teachers from San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, and STE faculty members.

This initiative is a key element of the Adopt-a-District Extension Program (ADEP), which is implemented under the TABANGE Framework of the Community Extension and Services Office, led by Director Ricky A. Egos and supported by the visionary leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. By emphasizing research development, the program reaffirms JHCSC’s commitment to advancing the professional growth of educators in its partner communities. -RMOJ
