Under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, J.H. Cerilles State College continues to move in pursuit of academic excellence through a comprehensive program evaluation, under the Commission on Higher Education CHED IX Monitoring and Evaluation Team. The evaluation spans from July 24 to July 25, 2024, and focuses on assessing existing programs and reviewing documentary analyses for new program offerings.
The second day of the evaluation was another day of a very thorough review under the esteemed CHED IX Monitoring and Evaluation Team. In attendance were distinguished professionals: Dr. Joe-an Cuaresma, Dr. Clarissa C. Alvarez, Dr. Vicente Regalado, Atty. Anabelle A. Faustino, and Mr. Conrad Fruibel Quilab. The team was assigned to take a close look at the various programs and institutional practices of JHCSC.
The evaluation process ranged from various programs. New programs evaluated were BTVTED Animal Production, represented by JHCSC Lakewood; PhD in Educational Management, represented by JHCSC Main; BS Agribusiness, represented by JHCSC Dumingag; BS Criminology, represented by JHCSC Lakewood; MS Criminal Justice, represented by JHCSC Dumingag; PhD Criminal Justice, represented by JHCSC Dumingag; and BS in Entrepreneurship, represented by JHCSC Pagadian. The programs for re-evaluation included BSED English (JHCSC Main), BSED English (JHCSC Dumingag), BSED Filipino (JHCSC Main), BSED Math (JHCSC Main), BSED Math (JHCSC Dumingag), BSED Science (JHCSC Main), BEED (JHCSC Main), BEED (JHCSC Dumingag), BS Agriculture (JHCSC Main), and BS Agriculture (JHCSC Dumingag). Revised programs included MAEd Educational Administration (JHCSC Main), MAEd Educational Administration (JHCSC Dumingag), MAEd English, MAEd Filipino, MAEd Math, MAEd Science, and MAgDev (JHCSC Main).
A comprehensive campus tour was conducted for the evaluators around JHCSC Main Campus to allow them to have firsthand information about facilities, resources, and infrastructures that support the academic environment. This provided an opportunity for the CHED supervisors to see for themselves the commitment of the college to provide a conducive atmosphere of learning to its students.
This has been capped by the exit conference at the JHCSC Board Room, Main Campus, in their presentation, where they presented the results of their evaluation. The presentation showed the strengths and weaknesses, giving valuable insights for continuous development in the institution.
JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales delivered a message reiterating the institution’s commitment to excellence. He expressed gratitude for the constructive feedback and emphasized JHCSC’s dedication to implementing the recommendations provided by the CHED team.
Finally, Dr. Patricia DJ. Bahian, the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Campus Administrator of Pagadian Annex, closed the program with her closing remarks: expressing thanks to the CHED IX team for its sterling effort at evaluation and the JHCSC community for its cooperation and support throughout the exercise.
The activity was capped with the distribution of certificates and tokens as a token of appreciation to the CHED supervisors and other key participants. This symbolizes the successful collaboration between CHED IX and JHCSC in their pursuit of quality education.
