The J.H. Cerilles State College Main Campus Guidance and Counselling Office led by Mrs. Jonah T. Salaguste, RGC, recently hosted the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) orientation on July 3, 2024 at Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region IX supported the event, thanks to the efforts of Regional Director Albert E. Gutib and Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Head Miraflor J. Casanes.
The main speaker was Mr. Firdoush P. Hatab, DOLE Labor and Employment Officer III. Mr. Hatab talked about the goals of SPES, which helps students get work experience and financial support for their education. This year, there are 160 slots for SPES grantees from all JHCSC campuses, offering more students the chance to benefit from the program.
The orientation aimed to give students access to work programs and cash assistance to help them succeed in their future careers. The event demonstrated the strong commitment of JHCSC and DOLE to help young people in Zamboanga del Sur find jobs and build better futures.
DOLE and the Guidance Office extended their gratitude and appreciation to JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales for his commitment and support for the program.
