The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Green Hornets clinched the championship title by overpowering the Southern Capital Colleges (SCC) Oroquieta City with a commanding score of 92-60 today, June 28, 2024, at the Universidad de Zamboanga Gymnasium, Zamboanga City. SCC conceded defeat with just 2 minutes remaining in the game.
According to President Rosales, JHCSC is the outstanding ROTC Basketball Team out of 18 participating teams throughout Mindanao, both private and public schools that offer Army ROTC programs. JHCSC will represent the island of Mindanao in the upcoming National ROTC GAMES in Cavite City on August 18, 2024.
JHCSC Coaching President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, Mr. Jonathan U. Belorio, Head Coach, and Assistant Coaches Jubie De Paz and Prof. Ruel S. Lasagas, supported by College Sports Director Ms. Kathleen A. Ursaiz and ROTC Unit Coordinator Mr. Ken Mark Edulan, played a pivotal role in the team’s triumph.
The Green Hornets’ victory showcases their relentless hard work, dedication, and teamwork. As they head to the National ROTC Games, JHCSC is ready to demonstrate their skills and solidify JHCSC’s standing as a top Army ROTC basketball team.
