J.H. Cerilles State College held an event on June 18, 2024, at JHCSC Main Campus Gymnasium, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur for Cluster 1 Class of 2024, including the Main Campus, Lakewood Campus, and Pagadian Annex, in recognition of their academic achievement and honoring their parents.
The ceremony with the theme, “A Legacy of Love, Success, and Achievement,” commenced with a Processional March of the Cluster 1 Class of 2024 Graduates, Faculty, Deans, Administrators, Executives, and Guests.
During the Ecumenical Service, four Religious Leaders from the Roman Catholic Church, the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), Islam, and the Subanen community offered prayers and blessings. This segment underscored the college’s respect for religious diversity.
At the hooding ceremony for the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) Class of 2024, SGS Dean Dr. Patricia D. Bahian read the significance of the Hood. “It represents a gateway, a passage from the world of learning to the world of application,” she said, telling the graduates that the Hood is more than just a symbol.
The honorable guests during the Cluster 1 Class of 2024 Tribute to Parents were Hon. Victor J. Yu, Provincial Governor of Zamboanga del Sur, a man of unwavering dedication and exemplary service, and Hon. John Regal, ZDS Board Member.
JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales delivered an inspiring address. He said, “My dear parents, this tribute is for you. We dedicate this activity to you to honor your sacrifices. This is your day to honor all of you as successful parents at JHCSC,” expressing gratitude to the parents.
The event concluded with a Tribute Song to Parents performed by the Graduates, expressing their love and gratitude. Student Trustee Wendell A. Ragusta, Jr. delivered a closing remark encapsulating the spirit of camaraderie and achievement.
This ceremony honored the Class of 2024 for their journey through hardships and victories. It also highlighted JHCSC’s ongoing legacy of shaping future leaders with the skills, principles, and resilience needed for a significant social impact.
