JHCSC Empowers Students Leaders to Advocate HIV and AIDS Awareness

The Health Services Office (HSO), led by Dr. Joanne Happy C. Hadjirul, organized an impactful HIV and AIDS awareness event themed “Let Communities Lead,” which made the Main Campus Gymnasium at JHCSC a hub of knowledge and empowerment as JHCSC Main Campus student leaders gathered today, March 5, 2024.
Dr. Hadjirul set the tone by presenting the activity’s objectives, emphasizing the pivotal role of community-driven initiatives in combating HIV and AIDS.
Ms. Kathleen Jean A. Ursaiz, the Canuto MS Enerio Campus School Nurse, delivered a comprehensive presentation covering crucial topics such as HIV, AIDS, STDs, and family planning. Her insights provided a deeper understanding of these issues, equipping participants with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. While JHCSC Student Trustee Wendell Ragusta contributed to the discussion by addressing the importance of responsible parenthood.
The event served as a platform for dialogue, education, and empowerment, reinforcing the commitment of JHCSC student leaders to promote health and well-being in their respective communities.
