LOOK || Financial Assistance Distributed to Displaced Student Beneficiaries of JHCSC

In a heart-warming event held at the College Gymnasium of JHCSC Main Campus, displaced student beneficiaries of the closed JHCSC External Studies Campuses were recipients of much-needed financial assistance. The initiative, spearheaded by Hon. Victor J. Yu, Governor of Zamboanga del Sur with 1st District Representative, Hon. Divina Grace C. Yu, and 2nd District Representative Hon. Jeyzel Victoria C. Yu, marked Batch 2 of releasing aid addressing lodging and transportation needs. The batch 1 release was at Dumingag Campus on February 14, 2024.
The atmosphere was set with the vibrant performance of the JHCSC Beneficiary Students, followed by a series of messages from key officials. Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, President of JHCSC, welcomed attendees and emphasized the institution’s vision to evolve into a university, reflecting the commitment to educational excellence. With him are the key leaders of JHCSC, including Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research Extension and Resource Generation; Presidential Management Officer (PMO) Bemia Snooky A. Beboso, and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Junno E. Tan.
The testimonies from displaced student beneficiaries conveyed deep gratitude to the Yu Administration for their consistent support, with special recognition given to Hon. Ex D. Ocapan, Mayor of San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, for demonstrating local government solidarity. Mayor Ocapan highlighted the significant number of graduates from JHCSC Main Campus in San Miguel. He encouraged students to persevere, echoing Governor Yu’s commitment to assisting their educational endeavors. Hon. Jeyzel Victoria C. Yu praised the students’ resilience, promising ongoing financial support and urging them to stay focused. Governor Victor J. Yu reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to providing opportunities for the students, emphasizing, “Bahalag makagasto mi, basta makatabang mi.” (We are willing to spend as long as it helps). His encouragement resonated deeply with the attendees, inspiring them to seize the opportunities before them.
The event concluded with a sense of optimism. It renewed determination among the beneficiaries as they received financial assistance and a sense of belonging and support from their community leaders and the JHCSC administration under the leadership of President Rosales.
