JHCSC OVPAA’s Syllabi Enhancement Orientation and Workshop conducted

Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, JHCSC Vice President for Academic Affairs, took the lead in organizing the College System-wide Syllabi Enhancement Orientation and Workshop. The event kicked off with program preliminaries and orientation held at the Amusement and Events Center in the Provincial Capitol Compound, Sto. Niño, Pagadian City on September 22,2023.

Subsequently, Syllabi Enhancement Workshops and breakaway sessions were conducted at the JHCSC Pagadian Annex, involving various schools, their respective Deans, Program Heads, and Faculty members.

During the formal program, Dr. Grengia provided a clear explanation of the purpose behind the activity, emphasizing its pivotal role in achieving academic excellence and ensuring the continued relevance of the institution’s curriculum. She highlighted how these initiatives are instrumental in elevating the overall quality of education offered by JHCSC.

In her welcome remarks, Dr. Ferlor Angel G. Rodriguez, the Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Coordinator, emphasized the pivotal role of the activity, highlighting that curriculum development and assessment are essential components of upholding educational quality.

Dr. Patricia DJ. Bahian, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, provided insights into the relevant DBM-CHED Joint Circular No. 3 Guidelines, particularly concerning the reclassification of faculty positions in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs). This ensures the college’s compliance with government standards and regulations in its educational activities.

Likewise, Mr. Vicpher D. Garnada, the Quality Assurance Officer, stressed the significance of relevant accreditation indicators and recommendations for maintaining and improving the academic standards of the college. Accreditation remains a crucial aspect of ensuring the quality of higher education.

Lastly, Ms. Rudylin C. Dayanan, the College Librarian, presented updates on the institution’s valuable library resources. She emphasized the pivotal role of a well-equipped library as a fundamental resource for both faculty and students, supporting research and learning.

This collaborative effort among administrators and faculty members underscores a dedication to continuous improvement and a commitment to excellence in education at JHCSC, under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. It ensures that the college remains competitive and continues to deliver high-quality education to its students.
