The Philippines ROTC Games 2023 – Mindanao Regional Qualifying Leg has officially kicked-off yesterday with the able presence of the Republic of the Philippines Vice President Sara G. Duterte and the Honorary Chairperson of the Tournament Senator Francis Tolentino held at the Zamboanga City Sports Complex on August 27,2023.
VP Duterte has expressed her sincere gratitude to all ROTC cadets and units from all participating State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Mindanao for their relentless hard work and dedication to representing the nation in sports.
“The ROTC games show hope, commitment, and love to our country! May maasahan sa mga kabataan,” affirmed by the Vice President.
The J.H. Cerilles State College( JHCSC) delegates was headed by President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales along with the college’s 44 student-athletes and 14 technical coaches and staff are set to compete in the different games to showcase their talents and skills with other SUCs in Mindanao.
CHED Comm. Jo Mark M. Libre and host SUC ZPPSU President Dr. Nelson Cabral, CHED X Regional Director Dr. Freddie T. Bernal and other SUC Presidents in Mindanao were also present at the event to show their utmost support to the Philippine student athletes.
Moreover, ROTC Games Mindanao Leg will run from August 27 to September 02, and this creates chances for potential athletes to recognize and be trained under the National Sports Associations.
Zamboanga City officials headed by Mayor John Dalipe, other participating State Universities and Colleges Presidents & officials, partnered National Government Agencies, and uniformed personnel in Mindanao were in full forced attendance.
