JHCSC joins MASTS Games 2022 at Davao Oriental State University

J.H. Cerilles State College led by President Dr. Mary Jocelyn Villejo Battung with its 98 Socio- Cultural Student-participants officially joined the MASTS Games 2022 – Socio-Cultural Competition on November 5-8, 2022 held at Davao Oriental State University (DORSU) in Mati City, Davao Oriental.

The said event was made possible thru the collaboration of Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) Inc. and Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, and Davao Oriental State University (DORSU) President Dr. Roy G. Ponce, as the host SUC, as well as the officials of the province of Davao Oriental and the city of Mati.

Dr. Nelson P. Cabral officially opened the much-anticipated MASTS Games 2022-Socio-Cultural on November 5, 2022, in a momentous opening ceremony which took place at Davao Oriental State University Grandstand and was attended by SUC Presidents, school officials, coaches, and socio-cultural student- participants.

The 32 participating State Universities and Colleges were greeted warmly by the Governor of Davao Oriental Hon. Corazon N. Malanyaon, Davao Oriental’s 1st District Representative Cong. Nelson L. Dayanghirang, Second District Representative Cong. Miguel D. Almario and Mati City Mayor Hon. Michelle Marie Denise N. Rabat together with the city officials.

In his message as the opening ceremony’s Keynote Speaker, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Comm. Jo Mark M. Libre highlighted the significance of motivating and guiding PHEIs especially State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Mindanao in the fields of the arts, culture, and even sports to higher levels of sustained success and growth.

“MASTS will always be a place where men and women can hone their abilities, skills, get the right attitudes and prepare to overcome challenges, find interventions to problems, and help this nation develop toward success and the potential for a better future”, he said.

“To Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS), on behalf of the Commission on Higher Education, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you. I am very confident that you will be able to motivate and guide PHEIs especially State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Mindanao in the fields of the arts, culture, and even sports to higher levels of sustained success and growth.”, Commissioner Libre concluded.
