𝐒𝐆𝐒 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫-𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬

The J.H. Cerilles State College School of Graduate Studies (SGS), led by Coordinating Dean Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, conducted a Seminar-Workshop on the Review and Enhancement of the Manual of Operations and Handbook in Preparation for Additional Graduate Programs on July 28–29, 2026, at the JHCSC Hostel, Pagadian City Extension Campus.

The two-day activity gathered SGS faculty members to review the school’s existing policies, procedures, guidelines, and academic provisions. UP Diliman Assistant Professor Marielle Justine Sumilong served as the resource speaker, discussing trends and best practices in graduate school governance, graduate policies, and quality assurance. She also provided professional insights and recommendations throughout the review and development process.

Among the major activities conducted were a consultation on the existing Graduate School Manual with the resource speaker, a comprehensive review of the existing SGS Manual, and a policy gap analysis based on Commission on Higher Education standards. The participants also worked collaboratively to draft the Manual of Operations and develop the Graduate Student Handbook.

The seminar-workshop aimed to ensure that the revised documents align with JHCSC institutional policies, quality assurance standards, and the requirements for implementing additional graduate programs. The resulting Manual of Operations and Graduate Student Handbook are expected to strengthen graduate school governance, clarify academic and administrative procedures, and support the continued expansion and improvement of the college’s graduate education offerings.
