𝐎𝐕𝐏𝐀𝐀 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐝-𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA), headed by Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, convened School Deans, Campus Academic Program Coordinators, Campus Registrars, Campus Librarians, and the Curriculum and Instruction Director for the Mid-Year Cascades 2026 at the Conference Room, 3rd Floor of the I.T. Building. The activity served as a platform to cascade the key outcomes of the recently concluded Mid-Year Evaluation, Catch-Up Planning, Strategic Plan Alignment, and University Conversion Compliance Workshop, and reinforce the institution’s strategic direction toward universityhood.

During the meeting, participants revisited the priorities and commitments identified during the mid-year assessment and planning activities to ensure that academic units remain aligned with institutional goals and university conversion requirements. Discussions highlighted the crucial role of academic leaders in establishing clear, realistic, and aggressive key performance indicators (KPIs) for their respective schools and offices, emphasizing accountability and measurable outcomes to support institutional development.

Guided by the JHCSC Strategic Plan 2025–2030 and anchored on President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales’ RESILIENT Priorities and the JHCSC R.E.S.I.L.I.E.N.T. Framework, the meeting focused on aligning and expanding academic programs, innovating instructional delivery and degree offerings, aggressively pursuing quality assurance initiatives, and ensuring access through supportive and equitable programs and practices for student development. Participants likewise underscored the importance of leadership in translating institutional targets into daily actions that improve academic performance and sustain compliance with university conversion requirements.

The Mid-Year Cascades 2026 aims to unify academic units in advancing the institution’s transformation into a university by aligning programs, policies, and initiatives with strategic priorities and regulatory standards. Through strengthened collaboration, performance-driven implementation, and continuous monitoring of key targets, the OVPAA seeks to support the attainment of University Conversion SOP Level III and further advance the institution’s universityhood agenda.
