The JHCSC community proudly congratulates the remarkable achievement of the 𝟏𝟓 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 held on November 18-19, 2024. With the first-takers achieving an impressive 51.72% passing rate—surpassing the first-takers’ national passing rate of 49.94%—this milestone is a testament to their hard work, determination, and commitment to excellence.

Mr. Ronald Luste, Management Information System Technology Office (MISTO) Director, attended a Chief Information Officer (CIO) Conference in Metro Manila on December 4, 2024, as J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) representative. The event was first-ever hosted by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and brought together CIOs from various National Government Agencies, Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations, and State Universities and Colleges.

The School of Law (SOL) at JHCSC Pagadian Extension Campus conducted a seminar on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) under the theme “Breaking the Cycle of Abuse: Empowering Women and Children through R.A. 9262” On December 4, 2024 at the campus lobby. The event, part of the nationwide 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, was led by SOL Dean Atty. Romylyn O. Regidor, with the support of Mrs. Janniece L. Magsayo, Pagadian Annex DSA In-Charge, and Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, Campus Administrator, who represented the Office of the President under the leadership of Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales.

The Department of Science and Technology IX hosted the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) 2024, a three-day celebration of Science, Technology, and Innovation. With the theme, “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” the event was held from November 20–22, 2024, at the Juanito Bruno Gymnasium, Western Mindanao State University, Zamboanga City.

JH Cerilles State College (JHCSC) takes a significant step towards Internationalization as its School of Business and Management (SBM) Dean, Dr. Julito V. Mandac, Jr., participates in a 𝟏𝟎-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, sponsored by the Commission on Higher Education – Continuing Professional Development Studies Grant (CPDSG) recently held at the Universitas Bakrie in Jakarta from November 23 to December 3, 2024.

The first batch of Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (BSES) students from the School of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Studies (SAFES) at J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) successfully defended their research proposals during an inaugural event. This milestone took place on December 1-2, 2014, at the JHCSC Main Campus Research Conference Room in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. Over 100 students participated, grouped into teams of five, each presenting their proposed studies before a distinguished panel of experts.

November 28-29, 2024 – JHCSC School of Teacher Education (STE) student researchers participated in the 1st National Educational Technology Congress, hosted by the Academic Scholars Hub (ASH) and held online, with 32 schools from the Philippines and two (2) schools from the US joining the event. The congress, themed “Enhancing Teaching and Learning Through Innovation, Digital Tools, and Emerging AI Technologies,” featured various projects aimed at revolutionizing education using digital tools.

A delegation from J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), led by College President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, recently participated in the Public Service Value Chain (PSVC) Workshop organized by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP). Held from November 18 to 22, 2024, at the L.S. Virata Hall, DAP Building in Pasig City, the workshop aimed to enhance public-sector productivity by equipping participants with strategies to optimize service delivery and foster effective governance.

As the highly anticipated Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) Friendship Games 2024 came to a successful close on November 29, a closing ceremony was held at the Provincial Volleyball Field to honor the dedication and hard work of the operational team that ensured the events concluded peacefully.

The School of Nursing (SoN) of J.H. Cerilles State College, led by Dean Prof. Marjo S. Malabanan, has proven its commitment to excellence by achieving outstanding results in the Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE) held on November 9-10, 2024, with an 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝟗𝟏.𝟑𝟎% (63 out of 69) surpassing the national average of 84.99%.
