The Quality Assurance (QA) Office of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), led by Director Vicpher D. Garnada, successfully facilitated the exit conference and closing program via Zoom on March 28, 2025. This event marked the conclusion of the three-day Phase 2 of the 3rd Survey for Level III online accreditation of three academic programs: the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) at the Main Campus and both the BEEd and the Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCrim) at the Dumingag Campus. The accreditation was conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) from March 26 to 28, 2025.
Key JHCSC officials participated in the virtual event, including Vice Presidents Dr. Vilma C. Grengia (Academic Affairs) and Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido, Jr., MBA, CPA (Administration and Finance). Also present were deans whose schools had programs undergoing a Level III accreditation survey: Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial of the School of Teacher Education and Dr. Mark E. Patalighog of the School of Criminal Justice Education. The JHCSC QA staff and members of the Local Task Force also took part, alongside distinguished guests from AACCUP, led by Dr. Renelda P. Nacianceno, Associate Professor V at Iloilo Science and Technology University.
Representing the accreditation team, Dr. Nacianceno presented AACCUP’s assessment and commended JHCSC’s Local Task Force for their dedication and efficiency. The accreditors recognized the team’s commitment to going above and beyond by effectively managing individual responsibilities, promptly submitting necessary documents, and doubling their efforts to meet accreditation requirements. They also praised the local counterparts for demonstrating remarkable approachability and accommodation, overcoming challenges while ensuring that all inquiries were properly addressed.
While the accreditors acknowledged JHCSC’s commendable responsiveness, they also identified areas requiring further improvement. The full recommendations will be forwarded in detail once the accreditation results are submitted to AACCUP. These findings will undergo review by AACCUP’s Technical Review Committee before submission to the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA) for certification. Once finalized, the official results will be sent back to the institution.
As JHCSC awaits the accreditation results, the institution, under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding academic excellence and strengthening its quality assurance measures.
Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
