The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) President, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, hosted a special Commissionerβs Night at the JHCSC Hostel, marking a significant occasion with the attendance of key figures from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on March 27, 2025. The event was organized for featured distinguished guests such as CHED Commissioner Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III D.Eng, PCpE, and Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, CESE, the Regional Director of CHED Regional Office IX (CHED-ROIX).
The event was graced by several prominent individuals, including Engr. Joseph Lou C. Sta. Teresa, OIC-Chief Education Program Specialist of CHED-IX, and other Board of Trustees (BOT) members, such as Hon. Glendell I. Oyo-a, JHCSC Alumni Trustee. The Federated Faculty and Staff Association (FFASA) President, Prof. Glady C. Quirante, was also in attendance, along with the Private Sector Representative, Hon. Mary Ann Farrales. Atty. Esther Marie Ringon, BOT Secretary Designate, and Mr. Cristian Amor Baya, BOT Secretary I, were also present. The Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF), Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido Jr., CPA, Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) Director, Dr. Julito V. Mandac Jr., and campus directors Dr. Trinidad C. Abapo and Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin from Main and. Dumingag campuses, respectively, also attended A student band and a few faculty, staff, and guests further enlivened the evening.
The event took place after a tour of the JHCSC campuses, including visits to the Dumingag and Main Campuses, followed by a friendly basketball game. The evening then moved into a social dinner, where guests had the chance to network and engage in conversation. In his speech, Dr. Rosales expressed his appreciation for the guestsβ participation and emphasized the importance of building strong partnerships. Dr. Apag shared an inspiring message: βTrue greatness is achieved when you serve the community,β stressing the power of humility and the meaningful impact of service. Atty. Domingo also spoke about his journey and his first encounter with Dr. Apag, highlighting the deep professional relationship they have cultivated over time.
As the night unfolded, guests enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere with music, allowing them to connect both professionally and socially. The evening concluded with a sense of strengthened ties among the attendees and a renewed commitment to advancing education and collaboration. This event exemplified the importance of fostering meaningful connections within the educational community. The gathering at JHCSC was not only a celebration of friendship but also a reaffirmation of the shared goal to enhance academic excellence in the region.
