JHCSC student leaders, led by Hon. Cyrusdirk L. Elle, Supreme Student Federated Council President and Student Trustee, together with system-wide officers and the Office of the Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) headed by Dr. Jonno E. Tan, organized a two-day Leadership Training, Orientation Seminar, Financial Planning, and Workshop.
The event, held on January 24-25, 2025, at Chandler Suites, Pagadian City, aimed to strengthen student governance skills under the theme “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders by Honing their Skills and Strategies for Effective Student Governance at JHCSC.”
Student leaders from the Canuto MS Enerio, Pagadian, Dumingag, and Main campuses participated in the seminar, fostering collaboration and unity among representatives from JHCSC’s four campuses. This diverse representation underscored the university’s commitment to inclusive and effective leadership.
The seminar featured prominent JHCSC figures as resource speakers. Engr. Rigo Millares delivered a “Leadership Training” session, and Dr. Cleofe Baterna Jr., Planning and Development Office Director discussed “Planning Workflow.” At the same time, Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, led workshops on Budget Proposal and PPMP crafting. Each session was designed to equip student leaders with essential skills.
An open forum facilitated by the Supreme Student Council Officers allowed discussions on key initiatives, including a mobile conference, outreach programs, benchmarking activities, and plans for establishing a student lounge. These discussions highlighted the proactive approach of student leaders in addressing campus-wide concerns and fostering solutions to benefit the wider student body.
The training aimed to empower student leaders to discuss modern governance challenges with confidence and innovation. The seminar emphasized JHCSC’s commitment to shaping proactive leaders who can drive meaningful and transformative changes across campuses by enhancing their leadership, financial planning, and organizational strategy skills.
