The Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) has kicked off a two-day National Grassroots Sports Summit Workshop, March 6–7, 2024, at the Main Campus in Mati San Miguel, gathering sports, culture, and arts directors, coordinators, and athletic managers.
Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, President of JHCSC, extended a warm welcome to the event’s guests, which included distinguished individuals such as Philippine Sports Commissioner Comm. Edward L. Hayco, Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, President of ZPPSU & Masts; ManCom Chairman, Mr. Manuel C. Paster Jr.; PSC Consultant, Prof. Elbert Sr. “Bong” Atilano; Glendel Oyoa, representing the Provincial Government; as well as directors, coordinators, managers, and representatives from various sectors.
The workshop’s first-day sessions aimed to boost collaboration and innovation in grassroots sports. Topics covered included the rationale of the activity, discussions on the MASTS Games 2024 Hosting, insights into the vision, mission, programs, and activities of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and valuable tips on being a champion coach. There were also parallel sessions for the Culture and Arts Directors Meeting.
With diverse perspectives and expertise, the Day 1 Summit provided a platform for meaningful dialogue and strategic planning to propel grassroots sports initiatives to new heights.
