The KAPAMAGAYON 2023: Acquaintance Party, organized by the Supreme Student Council (SSC) Main Campus under the guidance of the Dean of Student Affairs, was a night filled with excitement and unforgettable moments. The successful event took place on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the College Gymnasium, Main Campus, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.
The guest speaker, Mr. Dave M. Barrot, LGOO-IV Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zamboanga del Sur Office, delivered a speech that elaborated on the event’s theme: “Harmony in Diversity: Building Bridges and Celebrating Unity.” He emphasized that this theme exemplified the unity among JHCSC students despite the diverse cultures in the local community. He stated that unity among the students would lead to boundless improvements and achievements for the institution and a brighter future for each and every student.
In his address, JHCSC President Edgardo H. Rosales assured that, under his administration, providing full support for the development of students will be given the utmost priority, making it one of his top concerns to elevate the institution. He also commended all the organizers for their outstanding leadership, which contributed to making the event a remarkable success.
Key contributors to the success of the event included Student Affairs Dean Dr. Jonno E. Tan, Student Trustee Hon. Wendel A. Ragusta Jr., SPFO President James Fiel Gudmalin, the Supreme Student Council, and Club Officers.
The event featured a variety of activities that added to its vibrancy, including the ceremonial lighting of the torch of friendship, a Spoken Poetry Competition, Pop Dance Competition, the main competition (Concert), and the presentation of individual awards such as the Head Turner Award, Face of the Night, White Theme Virtuoso Award, Sparkling Personality Award, and the KAPAMAGAYON 2023 Ambassador/Ambassadress 2023.
