In response with the dengue outbreak in Zamboanga del Sur as declared by the Department of Health (DOH) Region-IX, J.H. Cerilles State College conducted a Synchronized Clean-up Drive against dengue today August 9, 2019 all throughout the JHCSC system.
As per census, there are already 1,500 plus dengue cases in the province and numbers are continuously rising.
According to President Mary Jocelyn V. Battung, JHCSC as an institution it is her mandate to help the community we served especially in time of emergency.
With 3 organic campuses and 24 offsite classes all over the province, JHCSC employees and students actively joined the activity in support with local stakeholders to help in mitigating the dengue outbreak.
DOH R-IX strongly urged the communities to implement clean-up via the “Search and Destroy” approach, wherein people in the community check and remove from their surroundings the breeding grounds of mosquitoes such as worn-out rubber tires and cans filled with stagnant water among others.
