The Department of Agriculture- Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) led by Dir. Pablo Montalla officially turned over two (2) sets of Composting Facilities for Biodegradable Waste (CFBW) to J.H. Cerilles State College on February 3, 2022 at JHCSC Main Campus, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.
DA-BSWM Dir. Montalla represented by Dr. Evelyn Fernando formally turned over the said facilities to JHCSC President Dr. Mary Jocelyn V. Battung and VP for Research Extension and Resource Generation Dr. Jerry B. Superales with the college’s key officials.
The said two (2) sets of Composting Facilities for Biodegradable Waste (CFBW) would be installed at the JHCSC Main Campus and Dumingag Campus and will be managed by the School of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Studies under the supervision of SAFES Dean Dr. Teonita Y. Velasco.
In a statement, Pres. Battung extended her deepest gratitude to the DA-BSWM officials for their unceasing support to the institution and further said that the composting facility will really help the college and the community it served in solving Waste Management problem.
She is also thankful for the support of the institution’s LGU partner San Miguel town Mayor Angelito Martinez in the said initiative. Also, to DA Region-IX Dir. Rad Cedeńo represented by Asst. Dir. Maria Melba Wee and DA- BAR Dir. Dr. Junel B. Soriano for facilitating her request.
