The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has officially granted a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC)—Pagadian City Extension Campus for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, offered by the School of Nursing (SoN). CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis signed the certificate on October 20, 2025.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales participated in the National Financial Inclusion Summit held at Novotel, Quezon City, on November 13, 2025. The event, organized by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in partnership with the Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. (CLFI), carried the theme “#LahatKasama: Strengthening Financial Inclusion through Education.”

The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) School of Engineering and Technology (SET), Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) program participated in the 29th Mindanao-Wide Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Convention (ABECon, 2025) held from November 4 to 8, 2025, at the University of Southeastern Philippines – Tagum Campus, in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. The delegation was led by Engr. Johnren M. Siaboc, faculty member and coach of the BSABE program. The event carried the theme “Harmonizing ABE Pathways: Empowering Innovation Towards Sustainable and Smart Agri-Technology.”

The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) conducted an Evaluation Meeting for the Mindanao Association for State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) 2025 Sports and Socio-Cultural Friendship Games on November 6, 2025, at the JHCSC Conference Room, 3rd Floor, I.T. Building, Pagadian Extension Campus. The meeting was presided over by JHCSC President, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, and attended by Campus-wide Sports Director Dr. Buena D. Calunsag, heads of offices, faculty members, coaches, advisers, staff, and service personnel.

Lloid Delos Santos, a Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Mathematics I student from the School of Teacher Education (STE) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), clinched a Top 4 finish out of 15 participants in the 29th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) – Regional Championships held on November 6, 2025, at the LM Metro Hotel, Zamboanga City.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) reclaimed the Champion and 3rd Place titles in the 4th Regional Kabataang Organic Agriculture Quiz Bee, conducted by ATI-RTC IX on November 4, 2025, at Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City. It marks a back-to-back victory, securing the same rankings for the second consecutive year as the College once again demonstrates its consistent academic excellence and strong foundation in organic agriculture.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) proudly celebrates a remarkable research achievement as Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial, Dean of the School of Teacher Education (STE), joins a team of researchers from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in co-authoring a paper published in the Q1 Scopus-indexed journal Disciplinary and Interdisciplinary Science Education Research (Springer, 2025). The publication, titled “Integrating AI in STEM Education: Exploring Future STEM Competencies of Pre-Service Science Teachers in the Philippines,” highlights JHCSC’s growing involvement in high-impact international research addressing 21st-century educational challenges.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Regional Office IX, headed by Regional Director JCSUPT Amado A. Concepcion Jr., CESE, on November 5, 2025, at the JHCSC Hostel, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The partnership aims to strengthen environmental conservation efforts through coral propagation and reef restoration initiatives in the region.

JHCSC joined the celebration of Indigenous Peoples Month and the commemoration of the 28th Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act of 1997 (IPRA) on October 30, 2025, at the JHCSC Main Campus Gymnasium. The event, hosted by the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) under the leadership of Dean Dr. Benjamin B. Mangila, carried the theme “Weaving Culture, Enriching Future: Empowering Indigenous Communities as Bedrock of Sustainable Development.”

The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) actively participated in the seminar titled “Empowering Graduate Students Through Mental Health Awareness and Career Development” held on October 25, 2025, at the JHCSC HRM Hostel. The event was initiated by the Guidance and Counseling Office, led by Ms. Catherine D. Cabal, RGC, RPM, with the support of SGS Dean and Campus Director, Dr. Patricia D. Bahian. The Student Peer Facilitators (SPF) also played an essential role in organizing and preparing the day-long activity.
