The Academic Council of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) convened its Third Quarter Regular Meeting on September 24, 2025, at the IT Building Conference Room of the Pagadian Campus. The session was presided over by College Secretary Atty. Esther Marie S. Ringon, under the leadership of JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales.<\/div>\n

College officials, deans, program heads, faculty, and staff attended the meeting onsite and via Zoom. The gathering served as a venue for deliberating significant academic and institutional matters that will guide the College\u2019s continuous development.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Before proceeding with the agenda, Dr. Rosales commended the College\u2019s new Registered Social Workers (RSWs) for achieving a performance rate higher than the national passing percentage. He thanked the Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) dean, program chair, faculty, and staff for their efforts. He also acknowledged the law\u2019s authors for converting JHCSC into Zamboanga del Sur State University (ZDSSU). Dr. Rosales further presented the institution\u2019s ongoing journey toward universityhood, which includes compliance steps and submission of required documents for evaluation.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The meeting\u2019s agenda focused on key steps in the transition to a state university, including revisions of several departments\u2019 vision, mission, goals, and objectives, endorsement of a new logo for the School of Computing Studies, and scholarship updates. The Academic Council underscored its commitment to ensuring that every measure taken aligns with the standards and aspirations of a full-fledged university.<\/div>\n
