The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation (OVPRERG), headed by Dr. Jerry B. Superales with Prof. Ruel S. Lasagas, Research Director, and Dr. Joel M. Sabellano Jr., Extension Services Director, led its annual two-day in-house review of research and extension project proposals on August 26\u201327, 2025, at the New Roxan Hotel, Pagadian City. The activity aimed to ensure that proposed studies are aligned with the institution\u2019s research agenda, priority thrusts, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with participation from faculty researchers and extensionists from the Main, Pagadian, CSME, and Dumingag campuses.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The first day of the event focused on evaluating research project proposals in the areas of Science, Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources (AANR), Education, Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship, and Community and Stakeholders\u2019 Well-Being. The second day highlighted extension initiatives, particularly the TABANGE framework of the Community Extension and Services Office. Proposals were thoroughly reviewed by a panel of evaluators through roundtable discussions, offering constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Building on these discussions, JHCSC continues to uphold its commitment to fostering a research culture that responds to institutional, local, regional, and national development needs. This annual review ensures that institutional resources are strategically invested in projects that generate meaningful outcomes for the communities served by the college. It also provides a venue for researchers and extensionists to receive expert guidance and strengthen the quality and feasibility of their initiatives.<\/div>\n

Through these efforts, the in-house review reinforces JHCSC\u2019s mandate to advance research as a core function alongside instruction, extension, and production. By supporting innovative and relevant research and extension endeavors, the institution remains dedicated to pursuing academic excellence and contributing to sustainable community development.<\/div>\n
