The Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) program held its 5th Pinning and Send-off Ceremony on August 15, 2025, at the Gift Pavilion, Rizal Avenue, Lumbia District, Pagadian City. With the theme \u201cStrength and Unity Across Generations Using Wisdom, Skill, and Care for Maintaining Human Well-Being,\u201d the ceremony marked an important milestone for the graduating social work students as they embark on their practicum journey. The activity was spearheaded by BSSW Program Coordinator, Mrs. Khenny B. Colocar, with the support of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, represented by Ms. Febe Keith Jumoc, Director for Curriculum and Instruction.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The event gathered faculty, staff, parents, and partners from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices of San Miguel, Guipos, Dumalinao, and Margosatubig, as well as a representative from the Pagadian City Social Welfare and Development Office. Among the invited guests were Mrs. Yvonne N. Suico, Marciano C. Belotendos Jr., Elaine May E. Saripada, Rossana C. Canario, and Joefel G. Daquioag, who each represented their respective municipalities and agencies in showing support for the future social workers.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

In her message, Ms. Jumoc emphasized that the ceremony reflects a legacy of service built on wisdom, commitment, and genuine care that has been passed down across generations. She reminded the graduates that their chosen profession is rooted in compassion and dedication, urging them to embody the values of empathy and responsibility. Guest speaker Ms. Tai Macy Shih H. Saquibal further highlighted the symbolism of the pin, underscoring its meaning as a mark of \u201cserbisyo, karunungang panlipunan, kahusayan, at dignidad ng lahat ng tao.\u201d<\/div>\n

The pinning and send-off rites concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among the candidates, who are set to begin their immersion in various communities and social institutions. The event served not only as a formal send-off but also as an affirmation of the students\u2019 role in advancing social welfare and uplifting the dignity of individuals, families, and communities they will serve.<\/div>\n
