Eleven delegates from J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) are currently attending the 5th Annual Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) Conference, which is scheduled from July 9\u201311, 2025, in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. With the theme \u201cBreaking Barriers, Empowering Change,\u201d the three-day international gathering brings together education leaders, innovators, and changemakers worldwide.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Organized by Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) in collaboration with St. Paul University Dumaguete, Silliman University Dumaguete, and Siquijor State College, the event was graced by HLU President-Elect Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi.\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

A significant highlight of the conference is the official announcement of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Global Ranking 2025, which evaluates the real-world contributions of higher education institutions to industry and society.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The JHCSC delegation includes Dr. Cleofe Baterna, Jr., Associate Professor II; Ms. Frencislyn Aluyen, Planning Officer I; Ms. Marchelle Bacus, Planning and Development Specialist; Prof. Ruel Lasagas, Research Director; Mr. Renolfo Lasagas, Director for Resource Generation Management; Mr. Dave Talip, Director of the Internal Control Unit; Ms. Venus Avenido, Dean of Student Affairs; Dr. Mark Patalinghug, Dean of the School of Criminal Justice Education; Mr. Juda Cabalog, HRMO II; Dr. Jeremias Perez, Music Director; and Ms. Christine Go, Accountant I.\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Day 1 featured powerful plenary talks from Dr. Carl E. Balita, Founder and CEO of CBRC; Dr. Dina S. Ocampo, Professor at the University of the Philippines; and Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education. Breakout sessions focused on Student Support and Engagement, Student Mobility and Openness, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Ethics and Integrity.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The second day of the conference, July 10, will feature sessions on Funding for Sustainability, ESG Trends, Empowerment-Based Management, and Culture and Values, all of which will contribute to the ongoing conversation on transformative education. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

On the last day, July 11, participants will participate in a team-organized Cultural Tour to promote cross-cultural awareness and meaningful community engagement.\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The conference continues to provide a valuable platform for collaboration and innovation, as higher education institutions work together to break barriers and empower change.\n<\/div>\n
