J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) institutional leaders convened for a three-day Strategic Direction and Development (SDD) Workshop <\/span>held on July 2\u20134, 2025, at the Pagadian City Extension Campus Hostel to update the College\u2019s Strategic Plan for 2025\u20132030. The activity was organized by the Planning and Development Office, headed by Dr. Cleofe A. Baterna, Jr.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Expert facilitators from Negros Oriental State University<\/span>(NOrSU) led the discussions and workshops. The sessions were anchored on the strategic priorities of JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales <\/span> for Academic Year 2025\u20132030, introduced during the \ud835\udc77\ud835\udc93\ud835\udc86\ud835\udc94\ud835\udc8a\ud835\udc85\ud835\udc86\ud835\udc8f\ud835\udc95\u2019\ud835\udc94 \ud835\udc7b\ud835\udc89\ud835\udc93\ud835\udc96\ud835\udc94\ud835\udc95\ud835\udc94 through the acronym-based framework \ud835\udc79\ud835\udc6c\ud835\udc7a\ud835\udc70\ud835\udc73\ud835\udc70\ud835\udc6c\ud835\udc75\ud835\udc7b, which outlines the following nine-point agenda:<\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\ud835\udc70 \u2013 Innovative Enterprises and Income-Generating Projects
\n\t\t\t\ud835\udc73 \u2013 Levelled-Up University through Accreditation and Strategic Partnerships
\n\t\t\t\ud835\udc70 \u2013 Infrastructure Development and Digital Transformation
\n\t\t\t\ud835\udc6c \u2013 Enhanced Institutional Research Culture and Innovation
\n\t\t\t\ud835\udc75 \u2013 Neutral, Ethical, and Participatory Governance
\n\t\t\t\ud835\udc7b \u2013 Talent Development, Career Advancement, and Recognition Systems<\/p>\n

\t\t\tKey presentations from the NOrSU experts enriched the sessions.\n\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Dr. Cesar P. Estrope, Vice President for Student Affairs Services, highlighted the need for constructive alignment, translating the institution\u2019s Vision and Mission strategic Goals into measurable Quality Policy and Quality Objectives to ensure coherence in planning and implementation.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Dr. Ryan O. Tayco, Campus Director and PDO Director, emphasized the importance of futures thinking in strategic planning, guiding participants to recalibrate institutional goals and align Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) with long-term relevance and impact.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Prof. Jeffrey V. Estores, Deputy Director of QUAMC, led discussions on identifying and prioritizing strategic issues and gaps, and introduced effective methods for monitoring, evaluating, and finalizing the strategic plan to ensure continuous improvement.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The NOrSU team also included Prof. Arnie B. Villanueva, faculty member of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, who served as one of the expert facilitators, and Mr. Mark Anthony C. Rabanal, QUAMC staff, who provided technical support throughout the sessions.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The three-day SDD workshop and subsequent sessions helped build a shared understanding among key college leaders. It fostered collective ownership of the strategic direction, deepened alignment, and contributed to the finalization of JHCSC\u2019s 2025\u20132030 Strategic Plan. The commitment to this institutional direction was sealed by \ud835\udc94\ud835\udc8a\ud835\udc88\ud835\udc8f\ud835\udc8a\ud835\udc8f\ud835\udc88 \ud835\udc95\ud835\udc89\ud835\udc86 \ud835\udc77\ud835\udc8d\ud835\udc86\ud835\udc85\ud835\udc88\ud835\udc86 \ud835\udc90\ud835\udc87 \ud835\udc6a\ud835\udc90\ud835\udc8e\ud835\udc8e\ud835\udc8a\ud835\udc95\ud835\udc8e\ud835\udc86\ud835\udc8f\ud835\udc95 on the final day, July 4, 2025.<\/div>\n

The NOrSU experts, led by Dr. Estrope, expressed gratitude for JHCSC\u2019s invitation and the participants\u2019 active engagement. They hope this marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between NOrSU and JHCSC.<\/div>\n
