The Extension Project Proponents Meeting 2025, \u201cStrengthening Project Implementation and SUC Leveling Compliance,\u201d was held at the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) IT Building Conference Hall, Pagadian City Extension Campus on May 23, 2025. The event was led by Prof. Ricky A. Egos, Extension Services Director, in collaboration with Research Director Prof. Ruel S. Lasagas, with the support of the JHCSC President, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. The meeting served as a platform to reinforce institutional alignment with national standards for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Notable attendees included Planning Director Dr. Cleofe A. Baterna, Quality Assurance Director Prof. Vicpher D. Garnada, and School of Teacher Education (STE) Dean Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial, who also served as speakers during the sessions. Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, Campus Director of the Pagadian Campus, was also present. Deans, faculty members, and staff from across the campus participated, reflecting a collective commitment to driving JHCSC\u2019s extension initiatives forward.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

A range of crucial topics were discussed during the event; these included the planning and development strategies for SUC Multipurpose Accreditation Compliance. JHCSC outlined its current goals, emphasizing the importance of institutional partnerships with local government units (LGUs) and international research institutions. Key strategies were presented, such as organizing collaborative workshops, strengthening the TABANGE Framework through initial stakeholder meetings, utilizing campus facilities for research and extension, and offering training to faculty. The institution also underscored its efforts to enhance community engagement by organizing forums and linking with potential partner agencies.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Another vital discussion centered on aligning research outputs with community adoption. Speakers stressed that the true value of extension services lies in their sustainability, which is achievable through Research-Based Extension Activities (RBEA). Additional topics included revisiting the college\u2019s Extension Agenda, Framework, and Performance, employing innovative strategies to support the university conversion process, and preparing faculty for academic rank classification in line with SUC leveling standards.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

An open forum followed each speaker\u2019s presentation, which provided an opportunity to address queries, track the progress of departmental projects, and evaluate funding requirements for the year. Concerns across departments were carefully discussed, ensuring that the meeting left no room for confusion and paved the way for improved coordination and implementation.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

In his inspirational message, Dr. Rosales highlighted the recent achievements of JHCSC in securing Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC), commending the efforts of various departments, and encouraging others to follow their lead. He proposed the creation of an internal assessment body to evaluate the impact of extension services, emphasizing the need to link with national agencies for accreditation and impact measurement. Dr. Rosales challenged the academic leaders to strive for excellence and expressed hope that the meeting would bring lasting contributions toward the college\u2019s aspiration for universityhood.<\/div>\n

The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among all participants. With clear objectives, collaborative strategies, and committed leadership, JHCSC continues to make significant progress in pursuing academic excellence, institutional development, and eventual transition to universityhood.<\/div>\n
