The JHCSC Main Campus ROTC Unit successfully held its 2nd Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) for Academic Year 2024\u20132025, led by Col. Pompeyo Jason M. Almagro, MNSA (INF) PA, RAATI Chairman, through the representation of Ltc. John Ferdinand C. Lazo (GSC) INF, RAATI Vice Chairman, alongside the inspection team on May 14, 2025, at the San Miguel Central Elementary School in Poblacion, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The annual inspection aims to assess the operational readiness and overall performance of the ROTC unit across administrative and tactical areas.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

In support of the initiative, JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales formally welcomed the guests and participants with an inspiring message. \u201cIt is not easy to be a part of the basic course, but our responsibility as Filipino citizens is to be part of the reserve forces in the Philippines. We have a certain responsibility to defend our country from internal and external aggression,\u201d he emphasized.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Maj. Dave M. Barrot, PA (RES), Commandant of the JHCSC-Main ROTC Unit, NSTP-ROTC Coordinators Mr. Wilson I. Calbi (Main Campus) and Mr. Joniel L. Calibo (Pagadian Extension Campus), Dr. Trinidad C. Abapo, Main Campus Director, Dr. Jonno E. Tan, Dean of Student Affairs and Services, Hon. Rosela Patigayon, as well as faculty members, students, parents, and visitors.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

One of the highlights of the inspection was the ceremonial turn-over of command and control of the ROTC Unit from the Commandant to the RAATI team. In his address, Ltc. Lazo underscored the significance of the annual evaluation, stating, \u201cThe purpose of the RAATI is to evaluate the overall performance of ROTC units in administrative and tactical areas. Through this inspection, the cadets\u2019 proficiency in drill ceremonies, military customs, and basic tactical skills is thoroughly assessed.\u201d\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Cadets underwent a series of drills and military exercises, including Close Order Drill, Comprehensive Examination for Basic Cadets, Evaluation of Commandant and Training Staff, Field Stripping of the M-16A1 rifle, Map Reading and Land Navigation, Platoon Unit Tactics (PUT), First Aid and Basic Life Support, and Knot Tying. Each component was rigorously inspected, after which the RAATI team provided feedback and gave the JHCSC ROTC Unit an average score of 95.59%.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

This initiative is a testament to the institution\u2019s continued commitment to nurturing discipline, leadership, and patriotism among the youth, while ensuring its ROTC Unit remains aligned with national defense training standards.<\/div>\n
