The J.H. Cerilles State College Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (JHCSC-DRRMO), led by its director, Mr. Jerry R. Redoblado, conducted a two-day Disaster Preparedness and Response Training for Administrative Support Services Personnel at the Pagadian City Extension Campus. The event was held at the IT Building Conference Room on February 15-16, 2025.<\/p>\n

Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, the Campus Director, welcomed the DRRMO trainers and participants and highlighted the importance of the training in ensuring campus safety and preparedness.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Before the formal training sessions began, Mr. Redoblado presented the Main Campus DRRMO Team, which includes the Operations, Communication, Logistics, and Marshal units. He also provided an overview of the DRRMO\u2019s 2024 Accomplishment Report and outlined priorities for the coming year.<\/div>\n

The first day featured informative sessions led by experienced lecturers, including \u201cImportance of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Training\u201d by Mr. Jerry R. Redoblado, \u201cRisk and Hazard Identification\u201d by Mr. Jayvan Jay Insic, \u201cBasic Life Support\u201d by Ms. Jovemie Balagot, and \u201cPatient Casualty Handling\u201d by Mr. Greg Lorenze D. Quiling.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The second day focused on practical applications and skill-building exercises, including \u201cBandaging and Splinting\u201d by Mr. Greg Lorenze D. Quiling and \u201cProper Handling and Maintenance of School Equipment\u201d by Ms. Racyel Jude Rosales.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Participants also received Mass Casualty Incident Management (MCIM) training and engaged in hands-on demonstrations based on the lectures, allowing them to apply their knowledge in simulated emergency scenarios.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The training aimed to strengthen the institution\u2019s emergency response by focusing on the four key aspects of disaster risk reduction: prevention, mitigation, preparedness, and response. Furthermore, it reinforces JHCSC\u2019s commitment to ensuring safety on campus and in the surrounding community. By providing administrative personnel with disaster response skills, the institution ensures they are ready to act effectively in emergencies.<\/div>\n

The JHCSC-DRRMO remains committed to promoting disaster resilience and ensuring that JHCSC remains a safe and well-prepared educational institution, with the strong support of the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Mr. Wilfredo M.
