The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) from the City of Pagadian, led by Election Officer IV Atty. Jed M. Labador conducted a voter education for JHCSC School of Law Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) students. The event, aimed at preparing students for the upcoming National and Local Elections and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections on May 12, 2025, was held on January 30, 2024, at the JHCSC Hostel, Pagadian Extension Campus.<\/div>\n

Election Assistants Mrs. Corazon P. Dolero, Mr. Brian T. Datanagan, and Ms. Paula Belle Dasmarinas facilitated the activity while Atty. Glory Grace Nodado delivered a lecture on voter education. She comprehensively discussed voting procedures, prohibitions, key reminders, and the step-by-step process for the upcoming elections.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

After the lecture, Ms. Dasmarinas demonstrated the new Automated Counting Machine (ACM). CLEP students participated in mock voting and fed their ballots into the new Automated Counting Machine (ACM). This hands-on experience allowed them to familiarize themselves with the machine’s functions and features, helping to prepare voters for the transition to the new voting system.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The voter education initiative emphasized the importance of informed and responsible voting. The activity sought to enhance voter confidence and reduce potential issues on election day by equipping students with knowledge about electoral procedures and voting technologies. As the 2025 elections drew near, CLEP students were encouraged to serve as voter awareness advocates within JHCSC and the broader community. The initiative underscored the role of law students in promoting electoral integrity and active civic participation.<\/div>\n
