The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Dumingag Campus held its SGS Day 2024 on November 16 at Dapiwak. The event, themed \u201cRelevance, Inclusivity, Sustainability, and Excellence (RISE) in Graduate Education: Transforming the Education Landscape for a Sustainable Future,\u201d was spearheaded by Dr. Benjamin B. Mangila, Chairperson of the MAEd Educational Administration Program, and Dr. Jeffrey P. Villaver, Chairperson of the MagDev Program. The event was supported by Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, SGS Dean and Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, Campus Director of Dumingag\u2014the event aimed to highlight the role of graduate education in promoting sustainability and community development.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

First- and second-year students from the MAEd and MagDev programs participated in the morning activities. The program began with a welcome ceremony, followed by a tree-planting activity to promote environmental sustainability. Additionally, participants were introduced to the ZAMPEN Native Chicken project, which focused on sustainable agriculture and the promotion of local farming practices.<\/div>\n

In his address, Dr. Tangalin expressed gratitude to JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales and other college officials for their unwavering support. He emphasized the significance of research and environmental development in advancing both academic and agricultural practices within the community. Dr. Bahian, in her message, spoke passionately about revitalizing Dapiwak and utilizing the region’s natural resources through research and sustainable land production to drive local progress.<\/div>\n

The event aimed to promote environmental sustainability, academic excellence, and community involvement, reinforcing SGS\u2019s dedication to shaping a sustainable future through graduate education.<\/div>\n
