The two-day activity in line with celebrating the Entrepreneurship Days 2024 of J.H. Cerilles State College School of Business Management (JHCSC-SBM) commenced on November 7 at the Pagadian City Extension Campus. The event was spearheaded by Mr. Ernesto B. Medina Jr., Program Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, under SBM Dean Dr. Julito V. Mandac Jr.\u2019s guidance and supported by President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. It embraced the theme \u201cInnovative Minds, Sustainable Enterprises; Shaping Tomorrow\u2019s Leaders.\u201d The opening day marked the start of activities focused on the \u201cWaste to Class\u201d motto, promoting sustainable, recyclable, and innovative business practices that benefit both the environment and the economy. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Notable figures at the event\u2019s opening included Campus Director Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, Federated Faculty and Staff Association (FFASA) President Prof. Glady C. Quirante, and Dr. Myrna V. Ce\u00f1o, Program Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM). Students from JHCSC\u2019s Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and Entrepreneurship programs and the invited Colleges from Southern Mindanao College (SMC) and Saint Columban College (SCC) participated in the event. SMC had 23 participants, including Vice Governor of the Supreme Student Council, Ms. Glycel B. Tenajeros, who represented Dr. Ruby Rose J. Balili, Dean of the College of Business Education, and Mr. Jill B. Villarido, Supreme Student Council Adviser. SCC brought 29 participants, consisting of 27 students and faculty members, Mr. Ace Virgel T. Batingal and Ms. Joan S. Mondarte. <\/div>\n

The event\u2019s opening remarks set a focused tone for the day\u2019s activities. Mr. Ernesto B. Medina Jr. thanked the participating schools, acknowledging their support and reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the event. Dr. Julito V. Mandac Jr. highlighted that Entrepreneurship Days reflects a collective commitment to innovation and economic development. He explained how the activities were designed to improve product productivity, customer satisfaction, sustainability, and social impact while creating solutions that benefit the local community. Dr. Patricia D. Bahian emphasized the role of entrepreneurship in shaping a better future, urging young people to embrace their social responsibility and act as stewards of the environment. <\/div>\n

The first day of the event also featured several competitions. In the Quiz Bowl, the champion was the JHCSC BSE Third-Year Representatives, followed by SCC Team I as first runner-up and Team II as second runner-up. In Business Pitching, the JHCSC BSE Third-Year Representatives claimed the top spot, with SMC and SCC securing first and second runner-up, respectively. In the Pop Dance Competition, JHCSC took first place, while SMC and SCC earned second and third places. Lastly, Saint Columban College emerged as the champion in the Productive Innovation competition, with JHCSC \u2013 BSE-1B and SMC taking first and second runner-up, respectively. <\/div>\n

Entrepreneurship Days inspire students to pursue business ideas that contribute to sustainable development. The event showcased practical entrepreneurial approaches, highlighting entrepreneurs\u2019 impact on communities and the environment. Through networking and collaboration, participants were encouraged to transform ideas into viable ventures that could shape the future economy. Ultimately, the event fostered innovation and supported economic growth.<\/div>\n
