In celebration of the Founding Anniversary of the National Archives of the Philippines, the Records and Archives Office (RAO), led by Mrs. Mae Desiree L. Luste, Records Officer II, organized its inaugural Basic Records Management Orientation today, October 21, 2024, at the Library AVR, JHCSC Main Campus in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The orientation was attended by representatives and staff from various offices, including QA, Clinic, SGS, Registrar, MISTO, Library, OVPAA, GSO, HRMO, DSA, STE, NSTP, Scholarship, BOT, DRRMO, Cashier, Sports, Accounting, PPFMO, Extension, RGM, Budget, PERTC, Supply, PAMO, IZN, and SAS, who actively participated in the discussions.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Ms. Jovey P. Medina, a faculty member from SAS and former designated Records Officer at RAO, served as the guest speaker. She underscored the importance of proper records management in ensuring government accountability and described records as vital assets for institutions. Ms. Medina stressed the need for meticulous record-keeping to maintain the integrity and efficiency of organizational operations.<\/div>\n

The orientation aimed to equip record custodians with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage institutional records effectively, ensuring their long-term value and utility. Practical guidelines and best practices were provided to enhance participants’ understanding of organizing, storing, and maintaining records for maximum usefulness. <\/div>\n
