The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), led by Dean Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, conducted the Research Capability Enhancement Seminar for Graduate Students 2024 (ReCESGraS 2024) on October 20, 2024, at the DA Function Hall in Barangay Lower Landing, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. The seminar was initiated by Dr. Benjamin B. Mangila, Chairperson of the MAEd Educational Administration Program under the School of Teacher Education (STE), along with Dr. Jeffrey P. Villaver, Chairperson of the MagDev Program under the School of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Studies (SAFES) and the faculty members of SGS.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The seminar, themed \u201cEmpowering Graduate Scholars: Bridging Research Skills and Balance for Success in Academic and Personal Life,\u201d was attended by 56 MAEd students, 36 MagDev students, and faculty members from the School of Graduate Studies at JHCSC Dumingag Campus, Zamboanga del Sur.<\/div>\n

The seminar featured a lineup of expert resource speakers, including Mrs. Erma S. Ambalong, Campus Librarian, who delivered a presentation on \u201cSourcing Reference Materials,\u201d and Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, Campus Director, who addressed the topic of \u201cWriting and Preparing Research for Publication.\u201d Mr. Eric G. Lauron, a faculty member of the MAEd program, provided insights on \u201cNavigating Research Data Analysis: From Statement of the Problem to Insightful Reporting.\u201d At the same time, Ms. Venus M. Avenido discussed \u201cBalance Beyond the Books: Mastering Work-Life Harmony in Graduate School.\u201d<\/div>\n

This seminar equips graduate students with essential research skills and strategies for maintaining a healthy work-life balance, ensuring they can excel academically and personally. Through expert-led sessions on sourcing reference materials, data analysis, and preparing research for publication, participants gain practical tools to enhance their academic work. Additionally, the focus on work-life harmony helps them manage stress and sustain productivity, ultimately benefiting their overall well-being while preparing them for future success in their careers and research endeavors. -RMOJ<\/div>\n
