The first-ever JHCSC System’s Mental Health Advocacy has officially launched on September 25, 2024, at the JHCSC Pagadian Annex Lobby, Pagadian City. The event coincided with the global observance of Mental Health Awareness and adopted the theme, \u201cIt is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace.\u201d This theme highlights the growing importance of mental well-being, particularly in professional environments where stress and mental health issues often go unaddressed. Among the attendees were Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, Campus Administrator, Mrs. Janniece L. Magsayo, Pagadian Annex DSA In-Charge, the guidance counselors from the different campuses, faculty, staff, and students. <\/div>\n
The event also featured a dynamic talk show hosted by Ms. Prym Crio D. Postrero and Ms. Rhea Marie O. Jongco, broadcasters from the JHCSC Pulse. Titled \u201cOne Mind, One Heart: Chitchat with the Guidance Counselors,\u201d the program brought together guidance counselors from various JHCSC campuses: Dr. Moibe F. Olitres, RGC, RPsy from the Pagadian Annex; Mrs. Jonah T. Salaguste, RGC, RPm from the Main Campus; Mrs. Wella Rose D. Dico, RGC from the Dumingag Campus; and Ms. Cristy Sustomayor Ujaji, Guidance In-Charge from the Canuto Campus. <\/div>\n

Dr. Moibe F. Olitres, RGC, RPsy, Pagadian Annex Guidance Counselor, expressed her deep excitement and fulfillment as the Mental Health Advocacy event finally emerged. She highlighted the importance of creating an environment where mental health is prioritized, especially in educational and Workplace settings. <\/div>\n
President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales praised the JHCSC Guidance Counselors for their impactful initiative, noting that their efforts have significantly impacted students\u2019 lives coping with uncertainties and challenges, and he underscored that such initiatives benefit individual students and contribute to a healthier and more resilient academic community. -RMOJ<\/div>\n
The show engaged in an insightful discussion on a range of significant topics, including Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, the importance of a Mentally Healthy College Life, Self-care as a form of Self-love, HIV\/AIDS Awareness, and the overarching theme of Prioritizing Mental Health in the Workplace. The talk show provided valuable perspectives from the experts, offering attendees practical advice and strategies for maintaining mental well-being in academic settings and daily life. <\/div>\n
