A total of 105 third-year student-interns from the pioneering batch of the BS in Environmental Science (BSES) program at the School of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Studies (SAFES) of JH Cerilles State College participated in their first Pinning Ceremony. <\/div>\n
This milestone event, held today, June 25, 2024, at the College Gymnasium on the Main Campus in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, marks the commencement of their on-the-job training deployment in various offices under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Region-IX.<\/div>\n
During the ceremony, proud parents and family members pinned name plates on the student-interns, symbolizing the start of their practical work experience outside the classroom.<\/div>\n

As part of the ceremony, an Orientation Program was conducted to outline the on-the-job training mechanism, detailing the students’ responsibilities and tasks over the next month in their assigned offices. Assurance was also provided to families regarding the safety and well-being of the interns throughout their deployment.<\/div>\n
The event was meticulously organized by BSES Program faculty members, led by Mr. Joe Michael Calanda, MSc., Ms. Gypsie Claudine Cafe, MSc., Mr. Ruel Lasagas,MSc., and Mr. Homer Lao,MSc. with robust support from Program Chairperson Dr. Rosanilio Yagos and Dr. Jerry B. Superales, the Dean of SAFES and VP for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation (VPRERG) at the college.<\/div>\n
As a nascent and dynamic program, the BSES at JH Cerilles State College receives unwavering support from the college administration under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. This support aims to uphold and elevate all academic programs, ultimately benefiting students and stakeholders and contributing to the institution’s continuous improvement.<\/div>\n
