In response to President Duterte’s Proclamation No. 922 declaring a State of Emergency throughout the country, Provincial Executive Order 2020-04, and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) advisories on COVID-19, J. H. Cerilles State College establishes an Institutional Contingency Plan for COVID-19 in a meeting on March 16, 2020, held at the AVR, Library Building, JHCSC Main Campus, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.
\nThe said contingency plan aims to address the threat of possible community-level transmission thereby halting the spread of the virus whilst institutional services remain open to public.
\nJHCSC suspended its classes system-wide following the issuance Provincial E.O No. 2020-04 declaring the Indefinite Suspension of Classes in all levels and postponement of all Public Activities and Gatherings in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur initiated last March 14, 2020.
\nAll faculty that comprises the college\u2019s skeletal workforce were directed to report on duty within their respective posts for the unimpeded delivery of the institution’s community services.
\nThey were also advised to adopt protocols and preventive measures following the guidelines set by various agencies like DOH, DOLE, CSC, and CHED to ensure the safety and well-being of the JHCSC community.
\nIn line with the advice given by the Government’s COVID-19 Inter Agency Task Force regarding finding alternative work arrangement in order not to disrupt the institution’s delivery of services, all heads of offices were directed to submit their planned work arrangements within their offices including work Scheme (ex. Rotation, Work from home, shortened work hours, etc.), schedule of Frontline Staff (List of names and daily office schedule), and other adjustment of office procedures. The observance of Social Distancing was iterated in all offices at all times.
\nAs of writing, guidelines and procedures for both academics and administration in light of the COVID-19 crisis are being crafted and finalized. This includes the adjustments that have to be made and the transition of institutional procedures once the crisis is over.
\nThe JHCSC Taskforce on COVID-19 is led by Pres. Mary Jocelyn V. Battung, with VPAA Lina T. Codilla and VPRE Vilma C. Grengia. Other members of the taskforce include the Chief Administrative Officer Adelina A. Ursaiz, College Nurse Dr. Joanne Happy C. Hadjirul, HRMO Dr. Eleonor N. Ocay, College Registrar Dante B.
