Under the leadership of Dr. Benjamin B. Mangila, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies (BAELS) student interns conducted their pinning ceremony on February 16, 2026, at the Main Campus Gymnasium in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The event, themed “From Theory to Professional Practice: Preparing Future Language Professionals for a Dynamic, Technologically-Driven Workplace,” marked the students’ transition from academic preparation to professional readiness.<\/div>\n

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Frederick P. Grengia, Associate Dean; Dr. Arnold P. Canday, BAELS Program Chairperson; members of the SAS faculty; parents; and the student interns. The event reflects the college’s commitment to cultivating competent and industry-ready graduates.<\/div>\n

Guest speaker Mr. Rogene Jade B. Mangaron delivered a message of encouragement, emphasizing perseverance in the interns’ forthcoming professional endeavors. He reminded them that they may rest, but they should not quit. The program’s key features included the ceremonial pinning, recitation of the student interns’ creed and pledge, and the performance of the batch song, all of which reinforced the interns’ professional identity and commitment to ethical practice.<\/div>\n

The pinning ceremony served as a formal milestone marking the students’ entry into the professional realm. It underscored the institution’s objective of bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing future language professionals for the demands of a dynamic workplace.
