CHED Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III served as resource speaker during the Project Proposal Presentation on JHCSC Digitalization on February 13, 2026, at the JHCSC Hostel, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The presentation highlighted the institution\u2019s strategic direction toward universityhood and its vision of becoming a research university.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The activity was attended by Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation; Atty. Esther Marie S. Ringon, Chief Legal Officer; campus directors; and heads of offices. U.P.G.R.A.D.E., or University Pathway: Green, Responsive and Digital Education, was presented by Mr. Jamesy Putian Jr. and the Management Information System Technology Office (MISTO) team. The proposal outlined measures to strengthen digital infrastructure and institutional systems in support of research and academic programs. During the discussion, Commissioner Apag offered recommendations to further refine the framework.<\/div>\n

College President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, through Dumingag Campus Director Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, expressed appreciation for the Commissioner\u2019s visit, describing it as a historic moment for the institution. He noted that it was the first time JHCSC formally presented a comprehensive digitalization initiative to a CHED Commissioner, highlighting the significance of the engagement for the College\u2019s development.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

In his message, Commissioner Apag underscored the importance of unity and shared responsibility, stating that the success of one is the success of all, and the failure of one is the failure of all. He encouraged faculty members to strengthen their research engagement, adopt innovative approaches, and actively contribute to the College\u2019s transformation into a research university.<\/div>\n

The engagement concluded with a joint commitment from CHED and JHCSC officials to refine the proposal and align it with the institution\u2019s long-term goals. The activity reaffirmed JHCSC\u2019s dedication to digital transformation, academic excellence, and continued collaboration with CHED in pursuit of universityhood.<\/div>\n
